Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 20 mm, 2.72 g, 12 h), Antiochia, July 326. Laureate head of Constantine I to right. Rev. CONSTAN/TINVS / AVG / SMANTΔ in four lines; above, laurel wreath; below, pellet. RIC 57 var. (unlisted officina). Extremely rare, one of three known examples. Smoothed and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, nearly very fine.

This is the rarest of all Antiochene dynastic regular types, with only three examples known of officina Δ for Constantine I: one in the KHM (Vienna) and two in private hands, of which this is the finest (see also comment on lot 2910 above). All are struck from the same reverse die.
